Supervisors approved a personal property tax exemption for Fraenkel Co. of Olive Branch, where managers cited a $522,000 expansion and plans to bring in as many as nine more employees …A real and property tax exemption was issued to Guardian, a fiberglass maker for more than 25 years in Olive Branch.  He projects about 30 new jobs … “I find it remarkable that in this down economy, that anybody’s growing,” said (DeSoto County) board president Bill Russell.

Mississippi Republican U.S. Sens. Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran on Friday announced they’ve included in larger tax extension legislation provisions to extend the deadline to award and sell Gulf Opportunity Zone, or GoZone, bonds in Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama from this Dec. 31 to Jan. 1, 2012.
